At Versatech we take great care in selecting the products we sell. The range and complexity of security systems has grown exponentially over the past decade with many products rushed to market by manufacturers with little experience producing professional security systems. We don’t sell products that are engineered using the consumer technology model - designed to be supported for 2 to 3 years and then replaced. The products we sell can be relied upon as a long-term investment in your business, with a typical lifespan of 10 to 20 years.
To achieve the best result for our clients we the limit the number of manufacturers we partner with. This allows us to maximize our expertise with each product and maintain the highest level of training and knowledge among our staff. To achieve these goals each manufacturer we choose must meet certain criteria, including the following;
A proven track record in the industry and a commitment to long term customer support.
A strong sales and technical support team in Canada.
An extensive, evolving product line that can handle a wide range of client’s needs and potential growth.
An honest approach that doesn’t try to deceive clients by using exaggerated claims about their products.
An open market distribution policy. We avoid products that only sell to “exclusive dealers” (such as Lenel and Avigilon) as these arrangements are designed to trap clients into long term commitments to a particular dealer and product. We only use products available through open distribution so you can easily switch to another service provider at any time if you don’t feel we are providing you the best value for money. We believe that giving you this freedom makes sure we continue to earn your business.
When selecting security products the greatest area of concern is in the video surveillance sector where product quality and cost range dramatically. All of our video system components come from industry leaders Axis Communications (Sweden) and Hanwha Techwin (South Korea). All products are fully NDAA compliant. NDAA compliance assures that the products meet rigorous security standards and DO NOT USE the HiSilicon chipsets embedded in products from manufacturers who are under the direct control of the Chinese government such as HIKVision and Dahua. While products built using HiSilicon technology are incredibly cheap there are legitimate concerns relating to data security, environmental and labour standards, and general product quality. Beyond choosing the best manufacturing partners, we also test each new product and technology from our partners before offering them to clients. Even good companies sometimes release a product that isn’t quite “ready for prime time”. We believe it’s our responsibility to carefully vet each product we sell to assure they meet our client’s needs and offer excellent value for money.
